Why 'A Carte Blanche'?

"The complete freedom to act as one wishes"

Although we were (and are) very very happy with everything in our lives (our routine, our relatives and our circumstances), we could not dim our enthusiasm of launching a clothing line. However, starting a clothing line was not necessarily the evident 'next step' in our life path. Actually, it was quite far out of our comfort zone. Our studies were not (entirely) focused on fashion and neither were our relatives directly related to anyone or anything within the clothing industry. But, despite that, starting a clothing line remained an aspiration that we kept in mind.

The carte blanche is an expression which refers to the fact that it is completely up to you to decide on how you want to fulfill your task, ambitions or aspirations. Even though we might not be the 'designated ones' at first sight to step into the clothing industry, we realized ourselves that we can also find our specific way to launch a clothing line. We just had to make the conscious decision and act upon it.

We are not looking for a huge profit, any quick wins or to be living in Hawaii within a year. For us, it's about a search for quality, the beauty of just figuring things out on your own, the rush to catch new ideas, the excitement when the sample lies in your hands, and the eagerness to look for endless new opportunities. While doing this, we want make a contribution to the clothing industry by prioritizing sustainability in our way of working.

We are grateful that we made a start and that we can share this first collection with you. We are more than curious to find out how you perceive our clothing, ideas and way of working. We truly hope that you get some extra energy, a little smile on your face, or a fresh feeling when you wear any of the KAMIS Clothing items. We can't wait to see what the future brings and where our carte blanche may take us!
